WiFi routers and mesh networks
Boost your internet performance by choosing a new router using our comprehensive test results and buying guide.
A premium mesh option, the Orbi 860 features a 10Gbps Ethernet port, allowing it to support super-fast Hyperfibre plans. Most residential fibre connections in New Zealand are capped at 1Gbps, but in some regions, paying more can get you speeds up to 8Gbps, which this router can take advantage of. However, if you're not on a Hyperfibre plan, you can save money on a cheaper system.
This model code is specifically for a single router. A 2-pack system is also available under the code RBK862.

A Nightmare to Set Up
Pros
Internet speed is faster and the app is easy to use.
Cons
It took a day and a half with a technician to set this up so the satellite device connected with the main modem. Had I known it would have been so difficult I would have bought something else. It is also expensive. If you're very confident and technically savvy, you might be fine. Otherwise, steer clear.
Recommend it?
Maybe, it depends on what you're after.
