If you’re not a Consumer NZ member you might think all our test results are off limits. While most of our test results are for paying members only – because as a non-profit charity that’s our main source of funding – we do our best to provide as much info as we can for free. Here are 3 test results we've made available for all New Zealanders to view.
1. Laundry detergents
If you’re not using a good laundry detergent, you can waste a lot of money trying to rewash clothes to get rid of stains and smells. Check out which of the 59 detergents we recommend so your laundry comes out clean the first time.
Our test lab uses specially stained fabric swatches that are also bought by detergent companies to test their products. The types of stains we test on include make-up, baby food, chocolate ice cream, olive oil, tomato and grass – all those things that can be tricky to get out of your clothes.
2. Laundry stain removers
If you’ve got a stain to tackle, we can help. Check out the best stain removers for soaking and spot treatment. There are some products from big names in stain removal that didn’t do well in our testing – so make sure you’re not wasting your money on one of those.
3. Dishwasher detergents
Dishwasher detergent can be expensive! Make sure you’re not wasting your money next time you’re at the supermarket by checking out our test results first. The one that does the best job isn’t the priciest.
