Looking for a fridge that is going to last and not cost you heaps in repairs over its lifetime? Our reliability score can help you make the right choice.
Reliability and satisfaction
Choosing a new fridge is tricky – there are many different sizes, layouts and price ranges to choose from. Our fridge buying guide can help you with that.
You’ll also want to buy a machine that performs well, keeping foods at their optimum temperatures for as long as possible. That’s where our test results come in handy.
But equally as important is how reliable the fridge is going to be over its lifetime. We can help with that too. We regularly survey a representative selection of New Zealand consumers to find out what faults they’ve had with their appliances and use this to create a reliability score. We also ask how satisfied they are with their appliances. This creates a satisfaction score.
Which fridge brands are the least reliable?
The least reliable fridge brands in our survey are Beko and Haier, both receiving a low rating for reliability. They had significantly more problems than other brands. Haier also rated lowest for satisfaction, which isn’t surprising if their models haven’t been reliable.
