Great detergent

Pros

My go to detergent. No plastics in the pack. I have a front loader so great value. Use predominantly a cold wash and clothes come out great.

Works Really Well, cheaper than the others per wash

Pros

Cleans really well.
For best performance all powders (including Persil) need to be dissolved first.
I have always had to periodically work on collars and cuffs with all laundry powders I've tried (including Persil) this is no worse.
Better for the environment, septic tanks.
Doesn't irritate my son's sensitive skin (he reacts to crepe paper), the others do.
If you live in hard water areas (like Nelson) use calcium carbonate to reduce the hardness, this has calcium carbonate in it so you don't need to add as much.

No optical brighteners

Pros

I use this because it is the only detergent in the 10 recommended by Consumer that doesn't have optical brighteners. It is 1 of only 3 of the 10 that isn't packaged in plastic.

Cons

I don't particularly like the smell, but it is not offensive.

Recommend it?

Maybe, it depends on what you're after.

Great option for dark items

Pros

Cleans very well in warm water. No optical brighteners so safe for dark colours.
Low price per wash. Environmental.

Cons

Would prefer no fragrance, but find existing fragrance inoffensive and does not sensitise our skin.
Not available at our local New World, so buy online from Chemist Warehouse.

Makes machine smells funky, itches.

Cons

Whites get dingy, doesn't remove collar and cuff grime or makeup stains, and it makes my pristine machine REEK of funk in just one wash. Perfume makes my sensitive skin itch, even with extra rinses.
