Sunscreens

We aren’t testing sunscreens this summer. Sunscreens sold in New Zealand are now regulated under the Sunscreen (Product Safety Standard) Act and must meet the Australian and New Zealand sunscreen standard, which has requirements for independent testing.

While we’re still campaigning for regular mandatory sunscreen testing we’ve developed a sunscreen database, to help you decide which sunscreen to buy.

Strong and no eye sting
Pros

This doesn’t sting kids eyes
Stays on in water and not runny
As it’s zinc based you can see where it has gone on meaning you know if you’ve missed any spots, which is especially important in wee ones
I use this on my skin daily (around crows feet, top lip, areas that get the harsher sun angle!) nice knowing I don’t have to keep reapplying unlike other spf moisturisers.

Cons

You might not like that it leaves a little greasy look
